Enactor is among the finalists at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards for its partnership with Dunelm.

The retailer has turned self-checkout from a small idea in 2023 into a core part of its stores, with assisted self-service now 85% rolled out across the estate. Instead of an off-the-shelf SCO, Dunelm built its own on the Enactor platform, running the same software as its tills.

Its own teams use the Enactor Toolkit to design and change the journey, adding real-time colleague headset alerts, a pin audio prompt and layouts that flex by store size. Store satisfaction rose three points in FY26, with SCO cited as a driver, and programme pay back is expected in under three years.
